Quito (Pichincha) – The Ministry of Tourism continues with the inventory survey of tourist attractions around the country. In July, 17 new attractions were included in the Rumiñahui, Pedro Moncayo, and Isabela and Santa Cruz islands.

The updating of this inventory of tourist attractions is done monthly in order to obtain a valued record of all the attractions that, due to their natural, cultural and operational opportunities, constitute part of the country’s tourist heritage.

By July 2018, 12 attractions were included in the province of Pichincha and 5 in the Galapagos Islands, this under the framework of the Methodology for the ranking of attractions and generation of 2017 tourism spaces. This methodology allows the identification, classification and evaluation of the tourist attractions that offer better conditions for the development of products based on the Tourist Competitiveness Indices.
